An Island Paradise
No matter what they say, size does matter! And that’s never more true than for the tiny island of Malta. In this case, small is beautiful and even more appropriately, it’s really convenient for amazing, easy to reach ocean-side wedding venues. No matter where you stay on Malta you are always only a short drive to the coast, which makes planning a wedding by the sea relatively painless. Where once people would spend thousands and travel for hours to have a Caribbean beach wedding, there is an emerging trend to look closer to home and take advantage of Malta’s generous, and characteristically Mediterranean, coastline. The Maltese have not been slow on the uptake either, and have embraced the wedding industry whole-heartedly, going to greater and greater lengths to provide the most unique, or romantic, or lavish, or whatever-your-dream-may-be, wedding experiences by the sea. As such all the major quality hotels and sea-front venues now offer seriously good, hassle-free wedding planning products and services across a range of stunning locations.
Standards May Vary
While the hotels that are part of larger chains adhere to an internationally recognised standard of service, you do need to double check the standards of some of the independents. Four or even five star establishments can sometimes seem more like three star, so it is always wise to do a reckie or get personal recommendations for venues of interest. If you have specific requirements for your big day, you might want to get a bit more involved with your venue’s wedding planner as they will use their standard set-ups unless you ask otherwise. They have access to a large number of décor, catering, florist and entertainment companies and will be more than happy to do something different, as long as you just ask the question.
Creating a Dream Wedding
A wedding by the sea is one of the most romantic settings you can choose for your big day, and Malta won’t let you down. Choose lavish hotels on large sandy beaches where glowing sunsets provide stunning canvases for your photos, or rocky peninsulas where the sea laps the rocks as you dance and drink the night away in beach bars under the stars. The balmy evenings and warm Mediterranean breezes will give you the feeling of a truly tropical wedding with the benefit of being a relative stone’s throw from home.
